Sea Buckthorn

Sea buckthorn is known as a “panacea”, or cure-all, in many parts of Eastern Asia and Russia. It’s been used for thousands of years to treat various health issues and illnesses. Sea buckthorn has an impressive nutritional profile that includes 14 essential vitamins and all the omega oils including the rare omega 7. It is supercharged with anti oxidants and anti inflammatory properties that aids in healing and restoration. It is known to combat dry skin, fade age spots and help prevent and treat wrinkles. Being a true skin healer, it is sometimes known as the beauty berry.

As a food source, Sea Buckthorn fruit is considered one of the new “super foods”.  Since being introduced to North America more than a decade ago, this citrus fruit can be found in a variety of food products including jams, juices and even wine!

  • 15 times the Vitamin C of oranges per volume
  • Vitamin E (the second highest natural source in the plant world)
  • Beta Carotene
  • 18 amino acids, corticoids, tocopherols, flavenoids

Honey is a delicious sweetener that can be used for baking sweets, enhancing hot drinks or as a natural cough and cold remedy.  Made from bees collecting nectar, pollen and resins from flowers, it is loaded with nutrients, anti-oxidants and healing compounds. These phytonutrient antioxidants and enzymes also benefit the skin and hair, making honey a great natural ingredient in skincare products.

Honey is often described as a “humectant”, which is a substance that attracts moisture and locks it inside. This property makes honey a great moisturizer that creates elasticity and a glowing smooth texture.  The impressive chemical structure of honey allows for a variety of healing properties. Honey can be used to aid in wound healing, skin damage, itchy skin  and premature aging.
