Orillia Farmers’ Market

Every Saturday (weather permitting) from May 21st to October 8th we’ll be at the Orillia Farmers’ Market!  Come by and say hello, sample our products and receive special show prices! “The Farmers’ Market continues to proudly boast of its range of locally produced foods, handmade crafts from around the county and regularly scheduled special events for the family. Our growers look forward to Saturdays on the Market, where they offer fresh-picked produce in season, and naturally raised meats, with a variety of baked goods and ready-to-eat treats in a sociable atmosphere. Bring your family, meet your friends, get to know the vendors, enjoy the local musicians in the Market Cafe. Treat yourself to one of the tasty lunch menu items.”  From the Orillia Farmers’ Market Website at http://www.orilliafarmersmarket.on.ca/index.cfm

Thorold Arts & Crafts Show

It’s our first time attending this show and we’re looking forward to meeting the many locals and tourists!  You can expect to see to over 80 juried artisans from across Ontario and Quebec at the Thorold Community Arena! It’s the perfect time to sample our products and take advantage of our special show pricing.  Remember to tell us you Like us on Facebook for a special bonus!  If you miss us or need to stock up after the show, you can buy our products at The Honey Bee Store at 46 Front Street South. “Where Ships Climb the Mountain,” Thorold’s motto, comes from the fact that this heritage city sits 350 ft. above sea level at the top of the Niagara Escarpment! The  first Welland Canal was built in 1824 and the fourth and present Canal was completed in 1932. Countless tourists are in awe when they see the giant gates trap the water to maneuver huge ships up or down the Niagara Escarpment between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.  Although there are other Flight Locks in the world, Thorold’s twin locks are the only ones that lift ships higher or lower, over a shorter distance. Many homes, churches and buildings in Thorold are designated historical sites.  It is a real treat to see the architecture up close and appreciate their beauty in person. Be sure to check out  Thorold Tourism to see what else you can do while you are in the city and make a day of it!
